Diana's Stars - read it now
A chilling story which I actually found quite scary. With its grim subject matter and dark setting it highlights human nature at it's worst. The descriptive quality added to the story's impact as its clear and sometimes gruesome imagery have made this story a 'must-read'. Highly original, it would be nice to see this story and what what leads up to this chilling climax expanded to a novella or novel.
I look forward to reading more from this author

Two's Up! - Read it now
Crime, Sex, Drugs and Rock and Roll all in one great read. A must for anyone who wants to know just how souless the early '70's really were.
Kris Gray has produced a searingly honest account of Borstal life at the time....often with wit and pathos at the same time.
Well done for a first novel......I can see a great comedic television adaptation on the horizon.
Go buy this book.

Two's Up! - Read it now
Brilliantly funny, sometimes sad but also a good insight into the world of the Borstal boys - a real story about real people, couldn't put this book down and here's hoping for a follow up?

Two's Up! - Read it now
I’ve read the book “TWO’S UP” by Kris Gray, and although this is not the kind of book I would generally read, I actually liked it very much, it was written in an “earthy” way which literally is ‘down to earth’ and was funny, informative, sad, interesting too and has a story that one could follow through. It’s a real life story and just shows how life can evolve and get from almost “rags to riches” as it were, but that we have choices in life what and how to do things. Good or bad.
I hope it does well, it’s definitely a good read and worth keeping in the collection.

The Magicians - read it now
Excellent story Alan. Enjoyed from beginning to end. Really liked the plot. Not too many characters and enough of a hook at the beginning to keep the reader interested and intrigued. Tom

The Angel With Whiskers - read it now
Very nicely done Babz. Not my usual genre, but I had to finish it - a sign of a good story... Must read your others.

Christine's Dream - read it now
A good story and well developed though I would have to say a reduction in character numbers would have improved it for me. Having said that, it was a story within a story so that would have been restrictive on the author. Nice work.

Potato Woman - read it now
An interesting character story. Following the life of Pat a woman brought up to hate peeling potatoes. The writer really seems to get into the hatred this person has for the humble spud being a redirection of her hatred for her mother. It is a little long for my liking and a lot of unnecessary repetition but I found it enjoyable and could sympathise with her. Well done.

Summer of 69 - read it now
Just read the above story by BJ Coupe.
It's a little unusual but I like the dialogue and the plot. There are a lot of dreamlike stories around and unless they are exceptional they become boring. I think as a short story it works and the fact that she is getting drunk at the time allows it to happen.

Summer of 69 - read it now
This is my first visit to your website - I got your address from Writing Magazine. I like the concept of submitting stories for others opinions as it can be very helpful to get outsiders view and not just those of your friends and families. Keep it up.
